CUNY philosophy professor Noël Carroll answers questions about Arthur Danto’s art criticism and his impact on the philosophy of art. He elaborates on the difference between “post-historical” versus “post-modern” art and Danto’s ideas surrounding the critic’s famous phrase, “the end of art.” Dr. Carroll also speaks about Danto’s influence on his own work and suggests a revised approach to considering art.
